Philip J. Saverino, age 60, of South Toms River, passed away October 24, 2015. Born in Newark, he lived most of his life in South Toms River. A 20 year retired Gunnery Sergeant and Recruiter who served in Operation Desert Storm/Desert Shield. His profession, as an Aviation supply clerk, led him to serve under Presidents Nixon, Ford, Carter and Reagan on Marine One, The US Presidential helicopter. He is a life member of Toms River Volunteer Fire Company #2 as well as a School bus driver for the Toms River School District for 13 years. Surviving is his son John Jackson; brothers Edward, Joseph and Michael; his sister Connie Caban. Also surviving several cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8 PM and Friday 10-11 AM at Carmona- Bolen Home for Funerals, 412 Main St. Toms River, NJ 08753.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Toms River.
