Early morning on March 1 Toms River Fire Company #2 was dispatched to a possible Ice Rescue Assignment. It was reported that a vehicle was driving on the ice and witnesses can no longer see the vehicle. Around 1020am the US Coast Guard found the vehicle about 100 yards off Motor Rd Pine Beach. Rescue 2624 was assigned with NJ State Police to assist with recovering the vehicle. It was later determined the occupants were able to exit the vehicle safety however a dog was lost in the vehicle. This is still an ongoing Police Investigation by NJSP and TRPD.
